I’m coming to the end of it and have learnt so much. I’ve been using the software for a year, self-learning as I went along. I had watched the odd David Grover video on YouTube, but never got much further in my understanding of the software.

Capture One is brilliant software and to do it justice you need to learn it properly from an expert. Highly recommend this course if you want to produce professional results. This is a particularly popular technique with landscape photographers. Why within the raw processor? While only having to use one tool instead of external plugins has its benefits, the bigger reason was that people wanted to be able to edit the output as a fully functioning raw file, not as a flat TIFF or JPEG.

And with Capture One 22, that feature has now been added. If there are variations between the images, it will be apparent when you see the output. Select the images you want to stitch in the browser, and right-click, choosing Stitch to Panorama….

You can use this to reduce your output file size for faster processing, or to keep it within the DNG limit of 65,px wide on any edge or megapixels overall.

Once stitching is complete, you have a raw file ready to be further edited to your choice of look — it behaves just as your original raw files, but as one big stitch of multiple images, blended together by Capture One. By bringing us the ability to stitch that content together, while still able to edit the output as a raw file in itself, Capture One gives us a valuable new tool to produce such views.

Capture One is an all-in-one non-destructive image cataloguing, raw processing and editing tool, and its closest rival is Adobe Lightroom Classic. I also noticed that many of the photogs I follow really enjoy using Capture One and rave about its efficiency. After looking at a few YouTube videos I decided that I needed something more thorough and of course CreativeLive delivered.

This is an excellent course and David Grover is a superb instructor. His in depth and thorough knowledge of the software is obvious but his manner of speaking and the simplicity with which he provides directions makes it easy to learn Capture One and lets you appreciate a sophisticated and expertly engineered software.

If you’re working with Capture One 11, layers is a little different than in version 10 but otherwise everything David discusses is the same. I thoroughly enjoyed the course and will continue to refer back to sections as needed.

Each session is personalized, so it can be on any topic you choose. This is used for controlling the OEM Epson inks as well as third party dedicated black and white ink sets. It is not very easy to search, but there are a lot of knowledgeable people there, and I contribute regularly as well.
